Hello! I am Joy!
This was me on my first day back in Europe as part of our full-time global travel lifestyle in June 2022, when we were finally allowed to travel anywhere again! I had my backpack, a small suitcase and a handbag…on a train after a longhaul flight from Australia!
Hi, I’m Joy Taylor—a tech-savvy mother of two, global explorer, and founder of enJoy Life Adventures.
My journey to full-time travel didn’t start with a grand plan; it started with a question: What if life could be more than routine—more freedom, more discovery, more enjoyable?
For years, I juggled the demands of work and family life, balancing career growth with raising my children, Oliver and Amanda, in my hometown of Toowoomba, Queensland.
We loved to travel during the holidays and had lots of wonderful adventures in Australia and abroad.
Of course, they grew up and I am proud that they are now independent and love seeing them choose their own adventures.

From empty nest to endless adventure
As an empty-nester, I felt a pull to redefine this next chapter of my life. Wasn’t there more to discover? Couldn’t I blend my passion for travel with a sustainable work lifestyle? These questions sparked a transformation that led me to embrace the work-from-anywhere lifestyle I live today.
My transition involved learning new skills to change careers, closing a business and embarking on various adventures to adjust to this new lifestyle. Now, I love spending my days exploring new ways of living, connecting with interesting people and being curious every day.

We are also about to embark on a project to renovate an old townhouse in Nontron, the Perigord-Vert region of the Dordogne department of Nouvelle-Aquitaine in the south-west of France.
This will become our European base. It is a long way back to Australia, and it will be nice to have a place to call home closer to use when we are in the northern hemisphere.
My plan is to document this adventure on my YouTube Vlog channel, so if you are interested, be sure to follow me over @enjoylife.adventures
The goal is to start in 2025…it could take a few years as we intend to keep travelling as well!

Taking regular solo adventures ensures I stay confident in my abilities and have experiences that I particularly enjoy, like hiking & kayaking, animal & environment conservation and opportunities to share my knowledge of entrepreneurship and technology with women & youth in rural communities.
Travelling solo does not always mean that I am alone. I find that joining small group adventure provides a lovely way to meet like-minded people and get access to unique experiences which may not be available otherwise.
It can also provide deeper insights into the culture of the community, in a respectful way that would otherwise feel awkward or unsafe on my own.

Enabling adventures is my business
I founded enJoy Life Adventures to inspire and empower other empty nesters to turn their dreams of freedom and adventure into reality.
Life changes when your kids leave home, but it isn’t the end of the road; it’s the beginning of a new and exciting journey.
I believe you don’t need to wait for retirement or a lottery win to explore the world—you can start right now with the right tools, mindset, and planning.
With a background in finance, business development, community engagement and tech solutions, I bring a strategic approach to helping my clients transition into a long-term travel lifestyle and remote work. But it’s my personal experience living this lifestyle that allows me to connect deeply with the challenges and dreams of fellow adventurers. I understand the hesitation, the fears, and the logistical challenges because I’ve been there myself.

When I started my digital nomad lifestyle, I worked for a small software development business in Australia. Together, we developed a strategy to minimise discomfort and disruption for the team during the transition period so business could continue smoothly and clients’ expectations were always met. I take immense pride in my work, whether in person or online, in real-time or asynchronous.
As a former employer, I understand the importance of having happy staff for workplace morale and achieving business objectives. Supporting teams to work from anywhere helps small businesses retain good people while allowing them to choose a location that matches their interests and goals.
